Nursery Recognized in Top 100
On September 29, Oregon Business Magazine hosted the first annual event to recognize and honor Oregon’s 100 Best Nonprofits to work for. We are pleased to announce that Children’s Relief Nursery made the ranking, taking spot #26 on the list of medium-sized organizations (25-74 employees). We are thrilled with this recognition and the statement it makes about our workplace, culture and employees.

Some of the loveliest moments of the event came when Barbara Roberts, former governor and a CRN founding board member, took the stage for her keynote address…

…This accomplished, much-revered and incredibly respected woman shared her perspective of the nonprofit world. To the audience of 600 people she announced that her proudest, most rewarding six years of board work came from her time with the Children’s Relief Nursery. She spoke warmly of us and had high praise for what we’re doing. It was an incredibly proud moment for us.

The 100 Best Nonprofits were determined by employee satisfaction and importance ratings of 60 workplace qualities in six categories: benefits and compensation; work environment; decision-making and trust; performance management; career development and learning; and sustainable practices. In addition, organizations had to answer more than 50 questions covering a comprehensive set of benefits and workplace practices. Oregon Business Magazine partnered with TACS, a local organization supporting the nonprofit sector and Portland research firm Davis Hibbitts & Midghall to score and rank the winning 100 nonprofits.

Thank you to all of you-donors, volunteers, staff, board members and founders--for your dedication to this organization and our work together. Your support is a key part of our success-past, present and into the future.
