All of our services are provided free-of-charge to the families we serve. Our volunteers make this possible by providing support for our program. By volunteering to help us, you become a partner in our mission to keep children safe and families strong. Whether you can join us once a week, once a month or once a year, we can use your help!
Do you love babies? Like to play with children? Want to make a difference in the life of a child who is at risk of abuse or neglect? Come and be a Classroom Volunteer at CRN! In just three hours a week you will have the opportunity to bond with a few of the children enrolled in our therapeutic classrooms, helping them explore the world in a safe and nurturing environment. It’s not very often you get the opportunity to make this kind of an impact on a child in need. This volunteer opportunity occurs during the weekdays, either from 9-12 or 1-4. Contact us today to find out when the next volunteer orientation is scheduled!
NOW YOU CAN APPLY ONLINE!!
You can now download the CRN Volunteer Application and fill it out prior to coming for an orientation. You can also register with the State’s Child Care Division, which is required for everyone who will be volunteering in our building. By registering online, you can cut the waiting time in half, meaning you’ll be cleared to volunteer much quicker!

Other Opportunities Include:
- We need someone who can install a strip of ceramic tiles onto the interior walls of our building; if you have the skills and can donate all or part of your time, we’d love to connect with you!
- Hosting a benefit baby shower is a great way to help children and families in need. You can help spread the word about the critical and life-changing services that CRN offers to families in crisis.
- Provide clerical support — reception, data entry, filing,
special projects.
- Help us keep our “Clothes Closet” tidy and ready for a family who needs to use it.
- Help get the word out about CRN’s program – come
to the nursery and help us prepare mailings.
- Join one of our committees focused on one of these areas: Auction, PR/Marketing, Development/Fundraising, Program Advisory, CARE for kids
- Lend your expertise on a special project.

Women of Vision volunteers, led by Alice Green (at far right in photo with flowers), created a Spa Day for 17 mothers being served at Children’s Relief Nursery. They solicited professionals who donated haircuts, manicures, massages and makeovers. They brought food for everyone, including the kids. They served as hostesses and provided childcare. Together, they created a very special day for mothers who rarely get the royal treatment. They even sent each woman home with a cosmetic bag full of goodies and a photo of themselves looking lovely. As each woman said when she headed home … “THANK YOU.”
