How Your Workplace Can Support CRN’s Mission

Your Workplace – Here Are Some Options

There are many ways local businesses can support the life-changing services provided by Children’s Relief Nursery. Here are a few:

“CARE 4 Kids” (Communities Aiding Relief Efforts for Kids) events help end child abuse in Portland.
Do you have a small business or work for a company that would like to increase sales while making a difference? Consider joining CRN’s “CARE 4 Kids” program. It is a great way to expose your business to new customers loyal to Children’s Relief Nursery’s mission. Call us at 503-595-4511 to hear more.

“Jeans days” are a popular way to support a nonprofit like CRN. If your company has “casual Fridays” or “jeans days” consider giving proceeds to CRN. It’s an easy, fun, and low-commitment way to make a difference. And we’d be happy to come to your office and make a brief presentation about CRN. Contact us at 503-595-4511.

Other ideas — bake sales, diaper drives, house parties, benefit baby showers, wine tastings and more. Brainstorm your idea with our Director of Development at 503-595-4511.

Employee Giving

Many community-minded companies have employee giving campaigns. Employees can make a one-time gift to Children’s Relief Nursery or give through payroll deduction. Many employers will even match gifts to the Nursery – some up to 100 percent! Please check with your human resources department to see if such a program exists at your workplace. Most companies launch their employee giving campaigns in the fall (September through December) in conjunction with a United Way campaign.

The Combined Federal Campaign

The Combined Federal Campaign is the largest workplace-giving program in the world—for employees of the federal government, the postal service and the uniformed services. If you would like to contribute to Children’s Relief Nursery, please enter CFC code “88246” on your pledge card.

United Way Campaign or Black United Fund

Dollars can also be donated to Children’s Relief Nursery through other workplace charitable campaigns such as United Way or the Black United Fund. These contributions either are one-time gifts or are fulfilled through payroll deduction. All you have to do is write in Children’s Relief Nursery on your pledge form. Please check with your workplace giving administrator if you have questions.
